Cast steel grits: Steel grit blasting is ideal for aggressive cleaning applications. Steel grit will quickly strip many types of surface contaminants from steel and other foundry metals. Steel grit is softer than aluminum oxide and does not fracture as easily, making it ideal for aircraft and aero-space applications. The angular nature of steel grit produces an etched surface on metal for superior adhesion of paint, epoxy, enamel, rubber and other coatings. Steel grit type: 1, GP: Angular when new, this grit rapidly rounds off in use and its particularly suited descaling applications. 2, GL: Although harder the GP steel grit, also loses its sharp edges during shot basting and is particularly suited to descaling and surface precaration applications. 3, GH: Having maximum hardness, GH always remains angular in its operating mix. These abrasive are particularly effective in surface treatment processes and produce a uniform etched finished, GH angular grits should only be used in wheel machines where working requirements take precedence over cost price considerations( for example with rolling mill cylinders or when a special finish is needed) For use mainly with compressed ail equipment.
