   A common method of cold metal machining differs from turning in that the cutter is driven by the spindle and the workpiece is relatively static.
The difference between turning and milling:
Turning is used to process the rotary parts. The parts are clamped onto the spindle of the machine tool by three catch chuck and rotated at high speed. Lathe also can carry on inside hole, thread, bit the processing such as, the latter two are low speed processing.
