  Roasted seaweed is commonly used as a wrap for sushi and onigiri, also as garnish in noodle preparation and condiment in soup.   Nori is naturally roasted or dried for human food consumption in oriental cooking. Particularly, the roasted type is used as wrapper for making rolled sushi, while the dried type is used in making both sushi and seaweed soup or rice balls.
