"I purchased this scratcher thinking my cat would use it as both a seat and for scratching. I also thought it was cute. Turns out that my cat sitting on the sofa all day, and he does use it for scratching. Currently I keep it in front of his food and water bowls because he likes to "bury" his food. With his freshly sharpened claws and my hardwood floors, I was not thrilled with his "burial" attempts. In an effort to prevent him from doing so, I placed the sofa scratcher in front of the bowls.
