 What kind of parameters can be measured by fluxmeter?

Flux meter together with different coils, can measure magnetic flux, magnetic field strength,magnetic flux density, magnetic moment, magnetic potential and magnetic polarization.

 

(1) Magnetic moment

It is the physical quantity which describe the magnetic of electrify coil or microscopic particle. In the field of magnetic measurement, we can use flux meter together with Helmholtz coil to measure the magnetic moment of hard magnets. 

 

(2) Magnetic flux

Suppose there is magnetic flux density B in the uniform magnetic field, and there is plane with the area of S and vertical to the magnetic field direction, the multiply of magnetic field B and area S is the magnetic flux which through the plane. 

 

(3) Magnetic flux density  

Magnetic flux density is the physical quantity which describes the strength and direction of magnetic field, it is the vector; the symbol of it is B, with the unit tesla (T). In physicals, the strength of magnetic field is expressed by magnetic flux density.

 

(4) Magnetic field strength

Magnetic field strength is the physical quantity which describes the magnetic properties, it shows in H.

Magnetic potential, also called “magnetomotive force”, is the force of magnetic flux when the current flow through the conductor. It is a quality which used for measure magnetic field or electromagnetic field, which is similar to the electromotive force or voltage in electricity.
