How They Work
Solar water heating systems include storage tanks and solar collectors. There are two types of solar water heating systems: Active, which have circulating pumps and controls, and passive, which don't.
Active Solar Water Heating Systems
Evacuated-tube solar collectors
They feature parallel rows of transparent glass tubes. Each tube contains a glass outer tube and metal absorber tube attached to a fin. The fin's coating absorbs solar energy but inhibits radiative heat loss. These collectors are used more frequently for U. S. Commercial applications
Hot air solar collector
1. Working principle:
The selective coating on the outside of the inner glass tube absorbs the sun's energy And the heat is transmitted inward and not radiated out because of the vacuum. The absorbed heat is Transmitted by the single piece aluminum fin (we use a single fin to enable more surface area to touch the Inside of the glass tube) to the heat pipe which transmits the energy to the fluid within the heat pipe and Causes the fluid to boil at a low temperature because it is under a vacuum. The boiling steam moves Upward to the Condenser head where it is cooled and the heat is transmitted then to the working fluid Of glycol or water through the manifold.
