Calcium Formate is an organic substance with the molecular formula C2H2O4Ca, used as a feed additive for all types of animals, with acidification, mildew, antibacterial and other efficacy, also used in industry for concrete, mortar additives, tanning of leather or as an antiseptic used.Calcium formate can be used as Coating Intermediates.
Physical and chemical properties of Calcium Formate
Properties: white crystal or powder, slightly hygroscopic, slightly bitter taste. Neutral, non-toxic, soluble in water. The aqueous solution is neutral. The solubility of calcium formate does not change much with increasing temperature, 16g/100g water at 0℃, 18.4g/100g water at 100℃. Specific gravity: 2.023(20℃), heap density 900-1000g/L. Heating decomposition temperature>400℃.
Feed grade Calcium Formate is a calcium salt containing formic acid, containing 31% calcium and 69% formic acid, neutral pH and low moisture content, mixing calcium formate into additive premix will not cause loss of vitamins, and free formic acid can be separated under the action of gastric acid to reduce gastric pH. Calcium formate has a high melting point and can be decomposed only when it is above 400℃, so it will not be damaged in the granulation process.
