The transmission fork is a component on the automobile gearbox. It is connected to the transmission handle and is located at the lower end of the handle. The input/output speed ratio is changed by turning the intermediate transmission wheel. The shift fork is a main part in the gearbox shifting mechanism, and it mainly plays the role of shifting. If the matching size accuracy of the shift fork notch is not high, the sliding gear cannot mesh with other gears correctly and effectively, thus affecting the work of the entire transmission system. The structural design features of the shift fork use bushings to reduce friction to make shifting easier, and use self-locking grooves to improve the shift suction feel and increase the shifting force to prevent shifting.

The drum-shaped fork legs are designed to improve the smoothness of shifting, and the fork legs are designed with equal strength to avoid the inclination of the gear sleeve due to inconsistent deformation of the fork legs due to stress. The drum-shaped fork leg design utilizes line contact, and the contact between the shift fork and the gear sleeve is line contact, which is more stable.
