Dichloromethane is mainly used in film production and pharmaceutical fields in China. Among them, the consumption for film production accounts for 50% of the total consumption, the medical face accounts for 20% of the total consumption, the consumption of cleaning agents and chemical industry accounts for 20% of the total consumption, and the other aspects account for 10%. Dichloromethane is also used as a refrigerant in industrial refrigeration systems, but it is very harmful, and can produce highly toxic phosgene when it comes into contact with open flames or hot objects. In case of humid air, it can be hydrolyzed to generate a small amount of hydrogen chloride, and light can also promote hydrolysis and increase the corrosiveness to metals.

Physical and chemical properties: colorless, transparent and volatile liquid with ether-like odor and sweetness. Relative density: D4201.326Kg/L, boiling point: 40.4℃, melting point: -96.7℃, auto-ignition point: 615℃. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, toxic and anesthetic and stimulating. Dichloromethane reacts with water by hydrolysis, and commercial dichloromethane contains stabilizer to prevent hydrolysis. Dichloromethane and high concentration of oxygen can produce explosive mixture, but it is not flammable. It is one of the solvents commonly used in industry with low toxicity, non-flammability and low boiling point.

Uses: used for non-flammable solvents: metal paint layer cleaning, release agent, metal degreasing agent, triacetate cellulose solvent; solvent in the production of film films, aerosols, antibiotics, vitamins; foaming agent: used in engineering plastics Foam; used to produce flame retardant series products; used to replace F11, F12 purpose products; used to synthesize fine chemical products.

Packaging, storage and transportation: Dichloromethane is sealed in galvanized iron drums, black iron drums or tank trucks, and its filling volume is 80% of the container. Nitrogen protection can be provided for users with special requirements. Storage should be placed in a dry and cool place, and the warehouse should be equipped with ventilation facilities to avoid contact with high concentrations of oxygen or oxides, and avoid contact with water to prevent hydrolysis. The transportation shall comply with the regulations of the People's Republic of China on the transportation of hazardous chemicals by road and railway.

Safety and health: The explosion limit of dichloromethane in air is 8.1-17.2%, which belongs to flammable chemicals. High concentration, prolonged exposure can easily cause dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, tinnitus or numbness of the limbs, move to fresh air, the symptoms will recover quickly, and will not cause lasting damage. Splashes into eyes cause pain and irritation, prolonged contact with skin can cause dermatitis.
