Product description

Chromium Copper bars and rods for electrode material     CuCr1 – UNS.C18200 Chromium Copper is a heat treatable copper alloy offering good electrical conductivity, resistance to softening at elevated temperatures and good strength and hardness. This combination of properties makes C18200 one of the preferred resistance welding electrode materials for a variety of applications. Nominally composed of 99.1% copper and 0.9% chromium, this heat treatable alloy can be brought to its softest condition by annealing it at 1000°C (1850°F) for one-half hour at temperature, then rapidly quenching it in water. In this annealed condition, the alloy is ductile and easily formed, and has an electrical conductivity of about 40% IACS.     Typical Application for UNS.C18200 Chromium Copper Alloys:     Electrical Industry: Cable, Connector, Thermal Conductors, Switch Gears, Electrical Connector, Circuit Breaker Parts, Switch Contacts, Electric Motor and Generator Components, Parts for electronic Devices     Consumer: Rod Extensions, Pencil-type, Light Soldering Guns, Tips     Industrial: Resistance Welding Machine Electrodes, Resistance Welding Equipment, Plastic Mold Components, Flash Welding Electrodes, Electrode Holder Jaws, Seam Welding Wheels, Wear Plates on Heavy Equipment, Heat Sinks, Spot Welding Tips, Molds     Available Sizes:   Custom Diameter & Sizes, Random Mill lengths     Available Products (forms):   Round bars, Flat bars, Square bars, Rectangular bars, Hexagon bars, Plates   Custom shapes are available upon request.     Chemical Composition:   Cr: 0.60-1.20%   Cu: Balance   Note: Copper plus additions equal 99.50% minimum.     Typical Physical Properties:    Density at 68°F: 0.321 Lbs./In.3   Specific Gravity: 8.89   Melting Point (Liquidus): 1075°C (1967°F)   Melting Point (Solidus): 1070°C (1958°F)   Coefficient of Thermal Expansion per °F: 9.8 x 10-6 (77-212°F)   Electrical Conductivity at 68°F (volumetric): 80% IACS (solution heat treated, cold worked 50% minimum and aged)   Thermal Conductivity Btu/ft.2/ft./hr./°F at 68°F: 187 (solution heat treated, cold worked 50% minimum and aged)   Modulus of Elasticity - Tension: 17,000 ksi     Note:   1). the units are based upon US Customary.   2). the typical physical properties apply to age hardened products.   International Specification:   Rods/Bars/Plates/Sheets: UNS.C18200, RWMA Class 2, CDA18200, ISO5182-1991   European Standards: CuCr, DIN 2.1291, CW105C to EN   Note: Unless otherwise specified, material will be produced to RWMA Grade.   Mechanical Properties:       The detailed Mechanical Properties will be available on request from customers.   Most Commonly Temper Used:   Rods/Bars/Tubes: AT(TF00), HT (TH04)   Plates: AT(TF00), HT(TH04)
