ASTM A106 Gr.B Carbon Steel HFW Fin Tube


ASTM A106 is a seamless carbon steel tube specification for high pressure service. Grade B is one of the grades described in this specification. A106 Gr. B tube is utilized in various industrial applications, including oil and gas refineries, power plants, and chemical facilities. These tubes are built to endure extreme heat and pressure.

 

High Frequency Welded fin tubes are also called solid type fin tubes, which use steel strip directly welded to tubes' surface by HFW. It can improve heat transfer efficiency much more than bare tubes. Due to the tight welding of the fins to the base tube, these finn tubes are usually used in vibrating conditions.


How to produce high frequency welded spiral finned tube?

High frequency welded spiral finned tube uses the skin effect and proximity effect of high frequency current to heat the steel strip and the outer surface of the steel tube until the plastic state or melting, while the fin is wound around the base tube. The welding is completed under a certain pressure when the fin is wound. This kind of high-frequency welding is a solid phase welding.


Characteristics:

The welded steel finned tube is particularly suited to high temperature and high pressure applications. The important features of this tube are efficient, effective bond of fins to tube under all conditions of temperature and pressure, and ability to withstand high fin-side temperatures.

A continuous helical fin is attached to the base tube by high frequency electric resistance welding to give an efficient and thermally reliable bond.
