Product description
What does the oxygen sensor on the car do?
An oxygen sensor in a car is a sensor used to measure the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust system. Its main role is to monitor vehicle emissions to ensure the efficiency of engine fuel combustion and reduce harmful emissions.
Oxygen sensors are usually installed at the front of a car's exhaust system and work by measuring the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust. The sensor sends this data to the vehicle control module (ECM), which adjusts the engine's fuel mix ratio based on the oxygen concentration measured by the sensor. If the oxygen concentration is too high, the ECM reduces the fuel supply to increase the mixture ratio, thereby reducing the emission of harmful gases. If the oxygen concentration is too low, the ECM increases the fuel supply to increase the mixture ratio and thus the efficiency of the engine.
