Zirconia (ZrO2 & Zirconium Oxide) is a unique technical ceramic. The ceramic components manufactured from zirconia exhibit superior mechanical properties such as high hardness, flexural strength and fracture toughness. Heat insulating properties and oxygen-ion conductivity indicate zirconia has potential for use in a wide variety of applications - everything from telecommunications to the new energy of the future and environmentally beneficial products.
Depending on doping material with different formulating ratio, different properties could be achieved because of influencing the interior microstructure. The "Ceramic Steel" titled zirconia is doped with Yttria forming an ultra-fine ductile structure with sub-micron grain formation leading to enormous bending strengths. Magnesia doped qualities are less strong also showing a coarser microstructure.

1. Excellent wear resistance, it's much better than aluminum oxide ceramics with longer life cycle

2. High density:  over 6 g/cm3, which makes it the densest body of the ceramic products
3. High hardness: over 9 on Mohs scale, diamond being 10, with a satin-smooth surface finish
4. High toughness: over 1200 MPa, approx. 4 times in comparison with 95% alumina, not easy to break
5. Low thermal conductivity:  less than 3 W/m.k at ambient temperature, so it's an ideal thermal material
6. Good chemical and corrosion resistance, withstand various of strong acids and alkali in high temperature
