TYLOSIN INJECTION 20% Veterinary

COMPOSITION:

Each 1ml contains:: Tylosin Tartrate(Equivalent to Tylosin base 200mg) 220mg.

CHARACTER:

The product is a yellow clear liquid.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:

Tylosin is thought to have the same mechanism of action as erythromycin (binds t0 50S ribosome and inhibits

protein Synthesis) and exhibits a similar spectrum of activity. It is cteriostatic antibiotic. For more specific

information on organisms that tylosin is usually active against, refer to the erythromycin monograph just prior

to this one. Cross resistance with erythromycin Occurs.

INDICATIONS:

Mainly used in the treatment of infection caused by mycoplasma and gram-positive bacterium,such as chronic respiralory disease and Infectious sinusitis, mycoplasma pneumonia and

mycoplasmal arthritis in swine.Also treats shipping fever, pneumonia, foot rot, calf diphtheria cattle.Treats

pasteurella pneumonia and acute dysentery caused by treponema hyodysenteriae.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Swine and Poultry: Inject IM 5- 13 mg/kg of body weight twice daily. Treatment should be continued 24

hours after symptoms of the disease have stopped, not to exceed 3 days. Do not inject more than 5 mL per

injection site.

Cattle: lnject I.M. 18 mg/kg of body Weight once daily. Treatment should be continued 24 hours after

symptoms of the disease have stopped not to exceed 5 days.

WANING:

1. Do not use in lactating dairy cattle and laying hens. A withdrawal period has not been established for this

product in preruminating calves.

Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.

2. Do not mix Tylosin Injection with other injectable solutions as this may cause precipitation of the active

ingredients.

3. Do not administer to horses or other equine species. Injection of tylosin in equines has been fatal.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

After intramuscular administration local reactions can occur, which disappear in a few days. Diarrhoea,

epigastric pain and skin sensitization can occur.

WITHDRAWAL TIMES:

cattle and swine: 21 days before slaughter.

Poultry: 28 days before slaughter.

STORAGE:

This product is suitable for dry and dark place to store.

Keep out of reach of children.
