Ammonium nitrate, 34% N Composition, properties, appearance: Granular nitrogen fertilizer containing 34% N. In dry years is sufficient for uptake, thus increasing its importance.
Use: It is used as a nitrogen fertilizer with slow-acting form of nitrogen. Whereas increasing the acidity of the soil is suitable for basic soils. Progressive / metered release of N increases as well the quality and quantity of crops and allows for perfect utilization of nutrients. Guide dosing in kg / ha CROP
Physical and Chemical Properties
Ammonium Nitrate is a chemical compound with the formula NH4NO3. It is composed of nitric acid and salt of ammonia. In room temperature, ammonium nitrate appears in a white crystalline form and it is also colorless. Its melting point is at 169.6 degrees Celsius or 337.3 degrees Fahrenheit. It's easy to dissolve in water and can not dissolve in alcohol, acetone, ammonia; easy to become caking after moisture absorption.
Safety, handling and storage
Due to the fact that this compound is actually hygroscopic. A hygroscopic substance is something that can easily collect water molecules from the environment where it is placed.Because of this reason, ammonium nitrates should not be stored in humid areas since water can easily affect the compound's explosive function.Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
Separate from acids, alkalies, reducing agents and combustibles. See NFPA 43A, Code for the Storage of Liquid and Solid Oxidizers.
