The molecular formula of light：MgO, the relative molecular weight is 40.30, the specific gravity is 3.58(25) light magnesium oxide is odorless, tasteless, non-toxic white amorphous powder.Insoluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, soluble in acid or ammonium salt solution, the solubility in water increases with the increase of CO2 content in water, the melting point is 2852℃, the boiling point is 3600℃, after 1000℃.When the temperature rises to 1500℃ above, it becomes dead burned magnesium oxide or sintered magnesium oxide.Absorb carbon dioxide and water from the air to form basic magnesium carbonate.

Use of light magnesium oxide 

1. Production of rubber products and neoprene adhesive: magnesium oxide plays the role of acid absorbent and accelerant in rubber manufacturing, and plays the role of vulcanization crosslinking, anticoke agent and resin chelating in neoprene adhesive.

2. Magnesium oxide plays a role in lowering sintering temperature in ceramics and enamels.Used as filler in the manufacture of grinding wheel and paint. 

3. In addition, there are also FRP, electronic industry, paper production, insulation material industry, petroleum additives, casting, phenolic plastics and other industries. 

4. Manufacture of metallurgy, smelting, advanced magnesia brick, refractory and moisturizing materials. 5. The greatest use in agriculture is for fertilizers and feed for livestock. It is a major element in the metabolic process of plants and animals.
