PTFE rod is an unfilled PTFE resin (may contain recycled PTFE resin) that is suitable for processing various liners, sealing materials, lubricants, and electrical insulation parts used in corrosive media at various frequencies. It is formed by molding, paste extrusion, or plunger extrusion.
Applications of PTFE Rod
There are two types of PTFE rods: push rods and molded rods. Among known plastics, PTFE has the best chemical corrosion resistance and dielectric properties. It can be used at temperatures ranging from -180°C to +260°C and has the lowest coefficient of friction. It is mainly suitable for long products and non-standard mechanical parts, such as seals/gaskets, rings, wear-resistant plates/seats, electrical insulation parts, corrosion-resistant industries, mechanical components, liners, petroleum and natural gas, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, and instrument and equipment manufacturers.
Application Fields of PTFE Rod
Chemical Industry: It can be used as an anticorrosive material to manufacture various anticorrosive parts, such as pipes, valves, pumps, and pipe fittings. In chemical equipment, it can be used as a lining and coating for reactors, distillation towers, and anticorrosive equipment.
Mechanical Industry: It can be used as a self-lubricating bearing, piston ring, oil seal, and sealing ring. Its self-lubricating property can reduce wear and heat generation of the parts, and reduce power consumption.
Electronics and Electrical Industry: It is mainly used to manufacture various wires and cables, battery electrodes, battery separators, printed circuit boards, etc.
Medical Materials: With its heat resistance, water resistance, and non-toxic characteristics, it can be used as a material for various medical devices and artificial organs. The former includes disinfection filters, beakers, and artificial heart-lung devices, while the latter includes artificial blood vessels, hearts, and esophagus.
