A-10 Class (4.8 kV to 7.2 kV) ;
A-20 Class (4.8 kV to 14.4 kV);
A-30 Class (4.8 kV to 34.5 kV);
serve to isolate the bus bar switches and other support structures and to prevent leakage current from flowing through the structure or to ground. These insulators are similar in function to other insulators used in substations and transmission poles and towers.
All are constructed of hightest quality wet process electrical porcelain,gray glazed.They are assembled with inserts of high strength aluminum alloy. with the inserts secured to the porcelain using a special high strengty compound.
