Meichen tube bundle dryers are a safe and reliable dryer due to their operation method. The steam tube bundle rotates slowly and conveys the material to be dried axially through the tube bundle. Shovels elevate the material along the circumference, and then the material trickles through the tube bundle back into the trough. The material gets dried by contact with the tubes and by convection.The tube bundle is heated with steam. It works on the basis of a reverse flow (steam flow versus product flow). The product to be heated gets in contact with the steam-heated tubes only, not with the heating agent steam itself (mere contact drying).
On the outside of the tube bundle there are lifting and conveying shovels. They convey the product to be heated from the inlet side to the outlet side. During the drying process the material to be dried are lifted up from a trough and trickle due to gravity over the heated tubes back into the trough.
The tube bundle dryer consists of a firmly installed housing with a rotating tube bundle inside. The tube bundle consists of two Dryer heads, two tube plates and of tubes rolled into the plates. The number, length and diameter of these tubes determine the total heating surface and , consequently, the heating capacity of the dryer.
