With the air fryer in the domestic shaking boom after the fire, the air fryer has been popular in foreign trade circles, widely favored by overseas consumers. According to a new survey by Statista, 39.9% of US consumers say that if they plan to buy a small kitchen appliance in the next 12 months, the product they are most likely to buy is an air fryer. Whether it is to North America, Europe or other regions, as sales increase, air fryers can be shipped by thousands or even tens of thousands at a time, and inspection before shipment is particularly important.

Inspection of air fryers

Air fryers are small household kitchen appliances. The inspection of air fryers is mainly according to IEC-2-37: Safety Standard for Household and Similar Electrical Installations - Particular requirements for commercial electric frying pans and deep-fat fryers. If the following tests are not indicated, the test method is in accordance with IEC international standards.

 

1. Transport drop test (not for fragile products)

Test METHOD: PERFORM DROP TEST ACCORDING TO ISTA 1A STANDARD. Product and PACKAGING SHOULD BE FREE of fatal and serious problems after 10 DROPS. This test is mainly used to simulate the free fall that the product may be subjected to during handling, and to investigate the resistance of the product to unexpected impact.

 

2. Appearance and assembly inspection

- The surface of the electroplated parts must be smooth and free of spots, pinholes and bubbles.

- The film on the paint surface must be smooth and bright, the color is uniform, the paint layer is firm, the main surface should be free of paint flow, marks, wrinkles and peeling and other defects that affect the appearance.

- The surface of plastic parts should be smooth and uniform in color, without obvious top white, scratch and color spots.

- The overall color is consistent with no obvious color difference.

- The assembly gap/step between the external surface parts of the product shall be less than 0.5mm, and the overall performance shall be consistent, and the matching strength shall be uniform and appropriate, and there shall be no over-tight or over-loose matching.

- The bottom rubber gasket should be assembled completely, without falling off, damage, rust and other phenomena.

 

3. Measurement of product size/weight/power cord length

Measurement of individual product weight, product dimensions, gross weight of outer box, outer box dimensions, length of power cord and volume of air fryer according to product specifications or sample provided by customer. If customer does not provide detailed tolerance requirements, +/-3% tolerance shall be used.

 

4. Coating adhesion test

Use 3M 600 adhesive paper to test the adhesion of oil spraying, hot stamping, UV coating and printing surface. The content should not fall off 10%.

 

5. Label friction test

Wipe the rated sticker with a cloth dipped in water for 15S, and then with a cloth dipped in gasoline for 15S. There is no obvious change on the label, and the writing should be clear without affecting the reading.

 

6. Full functional testing (including features that must be assembled)

Switches/KNObs, installation, adjustment, setting, display, etc., as specified in the manual should all be operable. All functions shall comply with the declaration. For the air fryer, should also test its cooking chips, chicken wings and other food function, after the completion of cooking, the outside surface of the French fries should be golden brown crisp texture, the inside of the French fries should be slightly dry without moisture, taste good; After cooking the chicken wings, the skin should be crispy and no liquid will flow out. If the meat is too hard, the chicken wings are too dry, and it is not good cooking effect.

 

7. Input power test

Test Methods: Measure and calculate the power deviation applied at rated voltage.

 

At rated voltage and normal operating temperature, the deviation of rated power shall not be greater than the following:

Rated power (W) allowable deviation

The < 25; 200 plus or minus 10% or less

>200 +5% or 20W (whichever is greater), -10%

 

8. High pressure test

Test method: Apply the required voltage (the voltage is determined according to the product type or under the root) between the parts to be tested. The action time is 1S, and the leakage current is 5mA. Required test voltage: 1200V for products sold to the US or Canada market; Class I to Europe is 1000V, Class II to Europe is 2500V, no insulation breakdown. Air fryers are generally category I.

 

9. Boot test

Test METHOD: The sample shall be able to pass high voltage test, function test, ground resistance test, etc., AFTER being SUPPLIED at rated voltage for at least 4 hours under full load or according to the instruction (if less than 4 hours).

 

10. Grounding test

Test method: grounding test current 25A, time 1S, resistance no more than 0.1ohm. United States and Canada market: grounding test current 25A, time 1S, resistance no more than 0.1ohm.

 

11. Thermal fuse function test

Let the temperature limiter not work, dry burn until the hot fuse is disconnected, the fuse should be operated, no safety problems appear.

 

12. Power cord tension test

Test method: IEC standard: pull 25 times. If the net weight of the product is less than or equal to 1 kg, pull 30 Newtons; If the net weight of the product is greater than 1 kg and less than or equal to 4 kg, pull 60 Newton; If the net weight of the product is greater than 4 kg, pull 100 Newtons. After testing, the power cord should not generate more than 2mm displacement. UL Standard: Pull 35 LBS and hold for 1 minute without displacing power cord.

 

13. Internal workmanship and critical component inspection

Inspect internal structure and key components according to CDF or CCL.

Mainly check the model, specification, manufacturer and other data of related parts. In general, these parts include: MCU, Relay, Mosfet, large electrolytic capacitors, large resistors, terminals, protective components such as PTC, MOV (varistor), etc.

 

14. Clock accuracy check

The clock shall be set according to the instructions, and the actual time shall be calculated according to the measurement (set at 2 hours). If there is no customer requirement, the tolerance of electronic clock is +/-1min, and the tolerance of mechanical clock is +/-10%.

 

15. Stability check

UL Standards and Methods: Place the air fryer on an inclined surface 15 degrees from the horizontal plane as usual. The power cord should be placed in the most unfavorable position. The appliance should not tip over.

IEC standards and methods: the air fryer is usually placed on an inclined surface of 10 degrees with the horizontal plane. The power cord is placed in the most unfavorable position and should not be overturned. Place ON AN INCLINED SURFACE AT 15 DEGREES FROM THE HORIZONTAL PLANE. Power CORD IN THE MOST UNFAVORABLE POSITION. Allow TO TIP OVER, BUT REPEAT TEMPERATURE RISE TEST.

 

16. Handle compression test

The holding device of the handle will be subjected to 100N pressure for 1 minute. Or support on the handle equal to 2 times the whole pot of water and the weight of the shell for 1 minute. After testing, the fixed system has no defect. Such as riveting, welding and so on.

 

17. Noise test

Reference standard: IEC60704-1

Test method: In the background noise <25dB environment, the product is placed in the center of the room 0.75m high test table, at least 1.0m away from the surrounding walls; Provide rated voltage to the product and set the stalls so that the product produces maximum noise (Airfry and Rotisserie stalls are recommended); The maximum sound pressure (A weighted) is measured at 1m distance from the front, back, left, right, and upper directions of the product. The measured sound pressure should be less than the decibel value required by the product specifications.

 

18. Water leakage test

Fill the internal container of the air fryer with water and let it stand. The whole equipment should not leak.

 

19 bar code scanning test

The barcode is clearly printed and scanned by barcode scanner, and the scanning results are consistent with the products.
