In congestive heart failure, the heart has a reduced ability to pump blood pressure. -Hawthorn leaves, flowers and berries are used by herbal practitioners in the UK to treat hypertension in conjunction with prescribed drugs. -Hawthorn contains flavonoids, procyanidins and other active compounds.
