Three-phase common-mode inductors are called three-phase common-mode inductors because they have three sets of windings, whereas common common-mode inductors have two sets of windings. This makes it easy to distinguish them when they are mixed together with common mode inductors. This is also the biggest difference in appearance between the two.

Three-phase common-mode inductors serve the same purpose as normal common-mode inductors in that they both have a role in reducing EMI interference in a circuit. Although their role is the same, in the application scenario is not the same, three-phase common mode inductor industrial power environment is used more, we all know that industrial power and our daily life with electricity is different, generally using three-phase power, it is higher voltage (three-phase voltage is 380V, the normal voltage is 220V). Therefore, in order to meet the requirements of industrial electricity, the current of three-phase common-mode inductors is usually very large, some can even reach several hundred amperes, while the current of ordinary common-mode inductors is usually between a few amperes and a dozen amperes, which is applied in the civil voltage. Therefore, three-phase common-mode inductors are mostly used in high-current, high-voltage environments, while ordinary common-mode inductors are mostly used in normal-voltage, low-current environments.
