Low Voltage Piezo Plate/Ring Actuator/Stack


Sheet-shaped piezoelectric ceramics are square or ring sheets with a standard thickness of 2mm. The maximum displacement of a single chip can reach 3.3 μm.

Stacked piezoelectric ceramics are used after stacking multiple piezoelectric ceramic sheets and welding common electrodes. The height is freely selected. The displacement after stacking is the total displacement of each sheet, and the maximum can reach 326.7μm.Customized UHV version, withstand voltage up to 10^10torr=1.33×10^10mbar.

Attention in Dynamics Operation


1) Piezo actuator will heat up at high frequencies, if reaching>150°C the electrodes would detach.

2) High accelerations will imply mechanical stress on the bus-wires. It needs to be determined if standard bus wires are suitable, or another solution is needed (like conductive glue).
3) High frequencies will imply tensile forces in the direction of movement. It is probable that you will need to pre-stress the actuators.

4) High frequency will mean high driving current. It needs to be ensure that the wires can work at the required range. Our standard wires can carry up to 1.4Amps.


Operating Temperature


Piezo stack can operate at 4mK to 470k (200°C) temperature.When the high temperature exceeds 150°C, the electrode may fall off. When used in a low temperature environment, the performance of piezo stack will be reduced, about 10% at room temperature.When used in dynamics at low temperature, it needs to replace with a low temperature lead.
