Among polyols, short carbon chain polyols with neopentyl structure are represented, and the properties of these alcohols are very similar. In the neopentyl structure, there is a planar symmetrical primary hydroxyl group, and due to the presence of a methylene structure, in β- There is no hydrogen atom in the position, which makes it have high chemical and thermal stability. At the same time, these organic substances can be dissolved in water and most organic solvents. In the process of airflow crushing, steam is used as the power to contact them with titanium dioxide particles in the gaseous state. When condensed into liquid or solid state, these molecules can be firmly adsorbed on the surface of titanium dioxide particles, showing excellent contact performance with solvents. Therefore, they can improve the dispersibility of pigments. At present, neopentyl glycol, trimethylolpropane and trimethylolethane are the most widely used.
