Rodenticide Pellets brodifacoum rat bait for rodent pests in White powder
Description:
Brodifaccoum is indirect anticoagulant. It is a kindo of rodenticide effective against warfarin-resis
tant rats. It is usually sold as ready to use bait in pellets, mini-pellets and waterproof bait contain
ing 0.005% rdifacoum (loose or in bait packs).Indicated for control of Norwegian rats, roof rats a
nd house mice in public, industrial and commercial buildings, in residences and outdoor urban a
reas. The application may be carried out by professional pest control personnel orby the public
in general.Theoretically, the substance may be onsidered for development as a therapeutic age
nt in anticoagulant therapy, but the difficulty in reversal of effects constitutes a major disadvanta
ge (Jones et al., 1984).

Controls most rodent pests, including Rattus norvegicus, R. rattus, Mus musculus and M. domes
ticus, at lower rates than many other anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin and pindone); also Cricetus cri
cetus, esocricetus auratus, Microtus pennsylvanicus, M. pinetorum, R. argentiventer, R. rattus m
indanensis and rodents, such as hamsters, that are difficult to control with other anticoagulants. P
otency is such that a rodent may absorb a lethal dose by taking a 50 mg/kg bait as part of its food
intake on only one occasion. For a review, see A. P. Buckle & R. H. Smith, "Rodent Pests and the
ir Control", CABI (1994).
