Because the belt is only a bearing surface, the operation of chain drive conveyors does not require high tension, thus greatly increasing the life of the conveyor belt and belt joints. The chain drive design does not require a bead on the outer edge of the belt to prevent belt misalignment. The Keke turning machine belt adopts steel buckle connection instead of vulcanization connection. The steel buckle connection can quickly replace the belt, and professional maintenance personnel can replace a belt within 20 minutes.
In contrast, friction-driven belt conveyors require precise tension control and adjustment to operate, and small changes in conditions can immediately affect their function. On friction drives, keeping the belt running efficiently requires high belt tension, which is transmitted to the belt joint, reducing belt life and increasing maintenance requirements. Also on friction drives, the end roll components (shafts, bearings, pulleys) are subject to higher stress levels due to the required belt tension, again reducing the life expectancy of these components
