Brief Introduction of Tempered Glass

   Tempered Glass also named toughened glass, hardened glass, ESG glass, is fabricated by heating annealed glass to over 600°C and cooling it rapidly and evenly, which locks the outer surfaces of the glass in a state of high compression, and the core or center of the glass in compensating tension. It is a safety glass which is used when strength, thermal resistance and safety are important considerations.  In the event of breakage the particles are small and are relatively harmless compared with the sharp splinters resulting from the breakage of annealed glass. The toughening process also greatly reduces the risk of thermal breakage. Up to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness, making it an ideal safety or security glass. All work done on Toughened glass (beveling, cutting, drilling, etc.) must be done before tempering. Architects and builders use tempered glass in buildings frequently, also the laminated glass, double glazed insulated glass, silkscreen printed glass.
