Glycine is the amino acid which has hydrogen as its side chain. It is the smallest possible amino acid .Glycine is a colorless, sweet-tasting crystalline solid. It is unique among the proteinogenic amino acids  in that it is achiral.

Function

Glycine, also known as aminoacetic acid, is used in the production of pyrethroid insecticides for the synthesis of pyrethroid insecticides. It is also a synthetic fungicide, iprodione and herbicide solid glyphosate. It is also used in industries such as fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, food additives, and condiments.

Application

The food-grade Glycine is mainly used as nutritional supplement and food additive. It is used as a flavoring or sweetness because it is sweet.

The medical-grade Glycine: It is mainly used in amino acid injection solution as nutritional infusion.

The industrial-grade Glycine can be used as a solvent for removing CO2 in the fertilizer industry, as an additive to the electroplating solution, as a pH regulator, and as an intermediate of pesticides, e.g.a key raw material for herbicide glyphosate.
