Carthamin Yellow Natural Color Sales, Carthamus (Safflower) Yellow is a natural food pigment extracted from the petal of Carthamus Tinctoria L. by the process of extracting, filtrating, purifying, concentrating, sterilizing, spraying & drying. The main coloring ingredient is carthamine.
The appearance of Carthamus(Safflower)Yellow is yellow or brown yellow powder. It can easily dissolve in water and ethanol solution, but not in ether, petroleum ether, oil and acetone. It is an excellent coloring agent for starch, but slightly coloring for protein. Ferric ion can make it becomes black. It has good resistance to light and high temperature
Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is a highly branched, herbaceous, thistle-like annual plant.Other names include Sallflower, Beni, Chimichanga, or Carthamus tinctorius and in Pashto it is called Kareza (as it is found abundantly in Afghanistan and Tribal belts of Pakistan).
Traditionally, the crop was grown for its seeds, and used for coloring and flavoring foods, in medicines, and making red (carthamin) and yellow dyes, especially before cheaper aniline dyes became available.Dried safflower flowers ( honglanhua,caohonghua, cihonghua) are used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain, increase circulation, and reduce bruising. They are included in herbal remedies for menstrual pain and minor physical trauma.

Carthamus Yellow can be widely used in instant rice & flour products, soda pop, fruit-flavoured beverages, beverages offruit and vegetable juice (pulp), decorative fruits and vegetables, frozen drinks (edible ice excluded), candy, topping, preserved fruits ,jelly, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned eight precious porridges, imitation wine, fillings for cereal foods, salted and cured meat products, condiments, puffed food.natural colors
When use Carthamus Yellow, dissolve the color with a small amount of water first, and then mix the color solution with food materials.
Usage Reference(in compliance with GB2760:Hygienic standards for uses of food additives)
For instant rice&flour products,the maximum usage limit is 0.5g/kg.The maximum usage limit for other products is 0.2g/kg.
