Chemical Properties of Ammonium Molybdate
Ammonium molybdate (ammonium molybdate), molecular formula is H8MoN2O4, molecular weight is 196.0145.
Ammonium molybdate is white or light green crystal with a relative density of 2.498. Soluble in water, acid and alkali, insoluble in alcohol. When heated to 90°C, it loses one crystal water, and decomposes into ammonia, water and molybdenum trioxide at 190°C. Place it in the air to weather and lose part of the ammonia. In industry, molybdenite (MoS2) is generally used for desulfurization by roasting and leaching with ammonia water.
