Acetolactate Synthase

DESCRIPTION

Acetolactate Synthase is produced by submerged fermentation followed by separation, ultrafiltration and formulation. It’s primarily used to catalyze the formation of acetyl lactate or 2-acetyl-2-hydroxybutyrate from pyruvic acid and acetoacetic acid or 2-ketovaleric acid. It also functions as a decarboxylase, catalyzing the decarboxylation of isovaleric acid into isobutyraldehyde. This product is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Acetolactate Synthase catalyzes the decarboxylation of one molecule of pyruvic acid and its condensation with another molecule of pyruvic acid to form one molecule of acetyl lactate, thereby leading to the biosynthesis of the side-chain amino acids valine, leucine, and isoleucine.

Temperature Range: 35-55°C

Optimum Temperature Range: 35-45°C

pH Range: 4.0-9.0

Optimum pH Range: 6.0-8.0

APPEARANCE

Brown to dark brown liquid. The color may vary slightly from batch to batch, Color intensity is not an indication of enzyme activity.

PRODUCT STANDARD

The product complies with GB/T 23527-2009.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION

The recommended dosage is 0.1-1kg/t of raw material. The dosage has to be optimized based on real situation, the raw material specifications, product expectations and processing parameters. It is better to begin the test with the smallest quantity.
