What benefit can we get from coated blackout fabrics?   A coated blackout fabric is a base fabric with an acrylic polymer coating that prevent exterior light from entering through a window. Coated blackout fabric can almost completely block out any light and impair sound disturbance, thus providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for living.       2. Are there different types of coating?   There are four main types of coating: 1 pass, 2 pass, 3 pass, 3 pass with silicone finish.   In order to differentiate between them, we will break down the processes. First, all coated blackout fabrics start as a base cloth such as polyester/cotton, 100%polyester etc. The 3-pass goes through a first coat or "pass" of white acrylic foam that seals the weave , The second pass consists of a black "opaque" coat, creating the function feature to block light. The third pass is a "finish" coat available in various colours.    So, from funtion point of view, 1pass and 2 pass are not 100% blackout, 3pass and 3pass with silicon finish are almost 100% blackout.   3. What is Silicone finish? What is the advantage for Silicone finish?   Silicone finish is a special finishing by HCZR. A thin layer of special silicone resin is applied on the surface of coating. This kind of finishing was initially developed to avoid sticky problem of the coating, and meanwhile, this provide fabrics a smooth hand feeling, and improve water-resistance and washability of fabrics.    4. What fabric width are available?   Our regular width of coated blackout fabrics are 140cm and 280cm. However, special width can be tailor-made for customers.   5. What ablut Flame Retardant?   All our blackout fabrics are available in both FR and Non-FR are certified to pass the NFPA 701 or BS5867 Standard Method of Fire Test for Flame Propagation for Textiles.
