v Dual plate, or double-door, check valves consist of two plates hinged in the center and spring loaded to assist in closing. They can be used for most media and possess good flow capacity. Sizes range from 2 inches to 60 inches and larger. Because of their design, dual plate check valves are lightweight and have compact face-to-face dimensions. As with butterfly valves, the compact design of dual plate types can require less support and shrink the needed size for a mechanical room. Dual plate valves are available in various body styles that include wafer, lug, and flange; some meet the popular API 594 face-to-face dimensions. Dual plate valves require removal from the line to perform inspection or repair.

Features:

 

1. ROBUST DESIGN

This is a self acting, non=return, single plate, wafer type swing check valve which provides high quality and reliability within a simplified construction. Available in both carbon steel and stainless steel.

2. MINIMAL HEAD LOSS

The low inertia disc is designed to open and close under low differential pressure conditions. Also, the short pattern design and straight flow path minimize pressure drop across the valve.

3. ECONOMICAL DESIGH

The low weight and short face to face dimensions provide an economical, space-saving solution. Additionally, flange gaskets are typically not required due to the built-in, body seal O-rings.

4. RESILIENT SOFT SEATS

Soft seats ( PTFE or BUNA) combined with a gravity assisted disc help to ensure a positive shutoff which creates a bubble tight seal that meets or exceeds API 598 leakage requirements.

5. VERSATILE DESIGN

This valve can be installed between weld neck or slip-on type companion flanges of different standards. This valve can not be installed in a vertical pipeline with downward flow.

6. FUGITIVE EMISSION DESIGN

The one piece body design eliminates potential leak paths to the environment so there are no body emissions.

Liquid or gas where protection from flow reversal in a pipeline is required.

 

Construction:

The Wafer Double Disc Check Valves are constructed from rugged castings that are machined to exacting specifications. Reference individual technical data pages for standard disc, shaft, spring, and elastomer seat.

Installation:

 

Wafer Double Disc Check Valves are used in both vertical and horizontal applications. For horizontal flow applications the shaft should be vertically oriented. Contact RST for downward vertical flow installations.
