The skim milk can be made into a nutritious, low-fat beverage. The crude virgin coconut oil is further processed by filtration using a forced batch filter (air pressure) to obtain water clear oil. Filter aids are used in the filtration equipment and a small amount of activated carbon (<0.1%) is added to the oil prior to filtration. The filtered oil is further dried under vacuum at low temperature to remove moisture in oil. Finally, the virgin coconut oil is packed in glass.
