1. RECOMMENDED FOR:
Coring in medium to ultra hard formations from abrasive to fine competent, using water or mud flush.
2. DESCRIPTION:
Impregnated diamond bits are the most widely used bits in the core drilling industry. By adjusting the combination of metallic powders and mixing fine diamonds in the crown (or called matrix), impregnated diamond bits can be manufactured to maximize penetration rates and bit life in a variety of rock formations. These variations are commonly identified by a series rating. As drilling progresses, the crown is slowly worn away, exposing new diamonds on the cutting surface. When the wear rate between the matrix material and the diamonds is balanced, optimum penetration rates and bit life will be achieved.
CROWN HEIGHT:
Changsha Drilling currently offers 4 standard impreg depths of 6mm, . 9mm, 12mm and 14mm, that are used in all geotechnical and mining applications. The longer crown heights provide improved bit stability and reduce vibrations, enhancing bit performance and life.
