The trap involves a simple wind up action and does not require batteries or electricity. Simply wind up the trap and place in an area that rodents are known to frequent. Try to line the access holes up with the path that rodents are known to take. No bait required but it can be a good idea to bait the trap with a dob of peanut butter on the platform. Once the trap has caught one rodent others will generally follow.
This particular trap is best suited to catching House Mice Mus musculus and other mice species, and Black Rats (House / Roof Rats) Rattus rattus.
