The working principle of induction lamp is ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION, which is driven by the electronic ballast. See the below diagram.
Therefore, there is no electrode or filament that is used in conventional lamps like HID lamps. No electrode or filament burning means the working temperature of induction lamp (max 80℃) can be much lower than HID lamps (up to 200℃), and thus the consumption of the electronic components can be much lower too. Without the impact of the consumption, ageing and failure of electrode or filament, the life of induction lamp depends only on the natural ageing of the phosphor and the natural depreciation of the gases inside the tube. So the theoretical lifespan of induction lamp of 100,000hrs is calculated based on this. And we use the high-class electrolytic capacitance which is controlled below a low temperature, so that the lifespan is maximized.
