The product is the compound containing the hydroxyalkyl acidamides based group, and it is also powder coating that can bear marquis, a kind of wonderful matt-finishing hardener. Compared with the matt-finishing hardener that widely using TGIC in the worldwide, this product possess low toxicity, do not activate skin, quick to harden, and some other excellent features; The powder coatings that adopts this product has outstanding performances in outdoors using, and this product is true green environmental.

Application:

1. HAA has low active property, therefore, traditional polyester-TGIC should not adopted, but to choose polyester that HAA specially need.
2. With polyester that acid value between 30-35mgKoh/g, usage should 5-6%.
3. The manufacturing technology of HAA series is similar to other polyester powder coating, in order to enhance HAA's dispersion, extrusion temperature should slightly higher than those required, about 115-120C.
4. Curing requirement: 180C/15min or 190C/10~12min.
Comparison of the two kinds of curing agent
N, N, N', N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)adipamide is the type genus of HAA, the melting point is above 120C. Compared with TGIC series used for polyester powder coating, HAA has its own features:
β -HEDA's equivalent is 82-86g/eq, slightly lower than the TGIC, so in terms of quality with the preparation of powder coatings, it has higher curing speed, therefore dosage may be less.
Since its less dosage than TGIC, and its plasticizer effect upon powder coating is lower, thus the powder coating after mixed has higher TG than mixed with TGIC, also has better chemical stability, alkali resistance, and better hydrolysis resistance compared to TGIC.
β -HEDA's nitrogen structure, no external nitrogen compounds additive required, also for its own inherent nature of frictional charge, therefore, it's suitable for spray gun Friction Construction
β -HEDA has low toxicity, test for genetic teratogenicity and carcinogenicity was negative, also its rapid toxicity, lower irritation to skin and eyes.
The disadvantage of polyester-HAA series powder coating is that during the process of cross linking, small molecules will released, so it's not suit for thick coating, otherwise pin holing will appear, also its heat-resistant is poor compared to TGIC series. In additional, using hydroxyalkyl amide to prepare high gloss powder coating to form film, for its film can not meet the requirement of thickness which will effected the whole result, it's suit for production of sand patterns, hammer, or other coatings that smooth appearance has not required.
