A boiler grate is the part of a boiler or industrial furnace used to hold solid fuel and burn it efficiently. The whole grate mainly includes two parts: frame and grate sheet. Grate is usually made of cast iron. After the assembly is completed, the necessary ventilation gap between each piece is maintained. An independent ventilation chamber with adjustable air volume is often set under the grate to make the air enter the fuel layer through the gap and burn. After burning, ash is discharged manually or mechanically. The grate has fixed type, mobile type, reciprocating type, vibration type and lower feed type.
