This HDMI CAT5e/6 Extender Balun Kit, Includes Transmitter and Receiver

Application: Allows you to extend your HDTV display up to 130 feet Using Category 5e/6 cable connections. The transmitter unit connects to the HDMI audio/video device with a HDMI connection. The receiver is located near the HDTV display source (HDTV, monitor) and connected to the display source with a HDMI connection. Then, the transmitter and the receiver units are connected together with two (2) Category 5e/6 cables that transmit a pristine high definition signal between the A/V device and the HDTV display up to 130 feet (100ft for 1080P via CAT6 cable). Supports all digital audio surround formats. Power is drawn directly from the HDMI cable so no power adapter is required.

Both the sender and receiver are equipped with a fixed HDMI cable that allows you to reduce costs and setup time. It is capable of supporting DVI (digital visual interface) equipment when used with an HDMI to DVI Adapter, providing greater flexibility and options when integrating several home theater components.

The advantages of using this type of cable rather than HDMI are that you can alter the length of your cable and it is very cheap in comparison with full HDMI cabling, CAT 5e/6 cable is easy to hide in a house, behind walls etc.
