About TOPDRY
TOPDRY is a unique and efficient desiccant that is based on Calcium Chloride which complies with FDA, EPA, EFSA regulations for food safety, environmental safety, 100% free of DMF (see EU directive 2009/251/EC) and non-toxic disposal. It was developed through with rich experience, professional technology and innovation as an efficient remedy against moisture and condensation in warehouse or during ocean transports.


Humidity Problem Analysis
During international transports, the temperature is changing tremendously between day and night in the container. The high temperature air in the day is full of water-saturated, in contrast, the low temperature air at night just holds little water vapor. As a result, the air becomes supersaturated with water vapor, potentially leading to condensation on the surface of packing or on the wall of inside the container when the temperature falls down. This is why fungus, mould 
and mildew occurs, damaging the cargo. If the water condenses on the surface of metal products corrosion occurs (re. figure 1). The similar situations also happen frequently during storage.
 
How to prevent condensation
Figure 2 shows how much moisture air can hold, the key to prevent condensation is to keep the air at less than 100% relative humidity. Anywhere to the left of the dark blue (100% relative humidity) is an invitation for condensation to form on the container wall or anywhere else of concern. Therefore, both temperature and water vapor additions are important. What can be done to control them? Normally, the temperature is the external or uncontrollable factor except refrigerated container. Hence, drop the RH is the key to control the moisture and prevent condensation. Some moisture invariably becomes trapped either in airborne form (depending on the external ambient and relative humidity) or 
being present in timber packing or dunnage materials, the container floor or the cargo itself. This [invisible" captured water can amount to many litres when relative humidity is high and precipitated in tropical zones. It is by preventing this release as condensation that desiccants have proven effective on moisture protection and gained increased acceptance on the majority of the world`s container traders.

TOPDRY desiccant is a environmentally-friendly product that actively reduces the humidity inside the box, carton, container or warehouse, protects the articles during storage or transportation. It may say that TOPDRY desiccant has long been an unsung hero of the global transport industry, as it has prevented countless insurance claims by protecting shipments from condensation damage.


TOPDRY desiccant absorbs moisture by extracting water vapor present in the air, thus prevent the humidity inside the container from reaching the dew point and condensing. The desiccant then starts to turn into a gel as it continues to absorb moisture (re. figure 3). In addition, with a special system of double packing: Spunbond and Composite Membrane . The ideal filtration media for high air permeability grades for drain layer and pleat support applications in both 
air and liquid. Hence, avoiding leakages.


TOPDRY-Super Moisture Absorption Capability
Depending on strong aggressiveness of hygroscopic Calcium Chloride, TOPDRY desiccant has a super absorption capability, it can absorb up to 220% and more than 60 days before saturation is reached.
