CMC is adhesive to most fibers and improves fiber-to-fiber bonding. Its viscosity stability ensures sizing uniformity and improves weaving efficiency. Can also be used in textile finishing agents, especially permanent anti-wrinkle finishing, to fabric durability changes.

CMC is used in the textile industry as a sizing agent, a thickener for printing pastes, textile printing and stiffening. Used for sizing agent to improve solubility and sticky, and easy to desizing; as a stiff finishing agent, its content above 95%; as a sizing agent, the bendability was significantly improved.
