Carbon steel forgings are created through the process of forging in which carbon steel is heated and given a particular shape by an application of a compressive force. Carbon steel forgings are cost-effective, easy to manufacture and effective in temperatures up to 900°F (482oC). As carbon steel, the alloying elements present are significant in granting desirable physical, mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. Carbon steel forgings offer very high strength, excellent secondary mechanical properties and low cost.
