Product Description

Hot rolled coil (hot coil for short) refers to the strip steel made from slab (mainly continuous casting slab) by roughing mill and finishing mill after heating. It has excellent properties such as high strength, good toughness, easy processing and molding, and good weldability. It is widely used in manufacturing industries such as ships, automobiles, bridges, construction, machinery, pressure vessels and so on.
The hot steel strip from the last finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature through laminar flow, and then rolled into steel strip coil by coiler. The cooled steel strip coil is processed into steel plate, flat coil and longitudinal cutting steel strip products through different finishing operation lines (leveling, straightening, transverse or longitudinal cutting, inspection, weighing, packaging and marking, etc.) according to the different needs of users.
What are the classifications of hot rolled coil
Hot rolled coil generally includes medium thick and wide steel strip, hot-rolled thin and wide steel strip and hot-rolled sheet. Medium thick and wide steel strip is one of the most representative varieties, and its output accounts for about two-thirds of the total output of hot-rolled coil. The subject matter of the hot-rolled coil futures contract to be listed on Shanghai Futures Exchange belongs to medium thick and wide steel strip.
Medium thick and wide steel strip refers to the steel strip with thickness ≥ 3mm and less than 20mm and width ≥ 600mm, which is produced and delivered in coils by continuous wide strip hot rolling mill or Steckel mill and other equipment.
Hot rolled thin and wide steel strip refers to the steel strip with thickness less than 3 mm and width ≥ 600 mm, which is produced and delivered in coils by continuous wide strip hot rolling mill, Steckel mill or thin slab continuous rolling equipment.
Hot rolled sheet refers to a single sheet of steel with a thickness of less than 3 mm. Hot rolled sheet steel is usually produced by continuous wide strip mill, thin slab continuous casting and rolling and other equipment, and the steel strip is delivered in plate shape.
